A day trip on Thursday August 22nd 2024 takes us to Trentham Gardens in Staffordshire.
A journey of 1 hours 45 mins with a short comfort stop gets us to this huge 725-acre site, part of which are contemporary gardens.
These include:
An Italian garden redesigned by Tom Stuart-Smith which showcase roses and late perennial planting.
Large grass gardens by the famous Piet Oudolf,
A large lake by Capability Brown which is studded with mini-islands full of wildlife. The lake side consists of ancient meadows and
woodlands with views across to the River Trent.
As well as the gardens there is also a large shopping village in the form of a high street of 80 timber lodges which include
cafes and restaurants, quirky shops along with the usual brands.
Finally, there is the UK’s largest garden centre which includes eating facilities.
Costs include entrance fee to the gardens and coach travel on an executive vehicle with air con and toilet.
We aim to arrive back in Cheltenham by 6pm traffic permitting.
A booking form can be downloaded from this webpage. Full details of cost, booking and pick up points are on the form.
To book please complete the form no later than Monday 5th August 2024.
